India-bound 2023 Kawasaki Z650: Details explained

Kawasaki has launched the updated Z650 naked roadster in the international markets with updated features and new colours. This motorcycle will arrive in the Indian market very soon, but the launch details are not available yet. While we await an Indian launch announcement of the 2023 Kawasaki Z650, here we explain all the details about the motorcycle.

Updated Rider Safety Feature

For 2023, Kawasaki has updated this middleweight motorcycle with the addition of a two-level traction control system. This safety feature was seen on the 2022 Versys 650 while it was added to the Ninja 650 as well in 2023. This new electronic rider aid joins the dual-channel ABS. Meanwhile, Kawasaki has retained features such as LED headlight, LED taillight, and a Bluetooth-enabled colour TFT display from the 2022 version.

New Colours

Internationally, the 2023 Z650 is listed in three colours – Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray with Ebony, Metallic Phantom Silver with Metallic Carbon Gray, and Metallic Spark Black with Metallic Flat Spark Black. The Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray with Ebony and Metallic Spark Black with Metallic Flat Spark Black colours get a black paint for the alloy wheels. The Metallic Phantom Silver with Metallic Carbon Gray, on the other hand, features a red paint for the wheels. All three colours feature a different paint for the chassis.

Unaltered Specifications

The Z 650 already complied with the newest emission norms, and thus the 2023 iteration continues to use the 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox that produces a maximum output of 67bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 64Nm at 6,700rpm.

Same Suspension and Braking Hardware

The hardware, too, has been retained from the 2022 version and thus the suspension tasks are handled by telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. The braking setup comprises dual disc brakes at the front and a single rotor at the back. The electronic rider aids, as mentioned earlier, include dual-channel ABS and two-level traction control system.
