Aprilia has introduced its new, middleweight supersport model, the RS660 in the Philippines. The new motorcycle, which is expected to reach the Indian shores later this year, has been launched in the Philippines at PHP 860,000 (Rs 13.19 lakh). Apart from the Philippines, the motorcycle is also available in Malaysia in the Southeast Asian market.
The new Aprilia RS660 has already been listed on the company’s India website along with the Tuono 660, although their launch details are not available yet. The motorcycle should arrive in the Rs 12-13 lakh (ex-showroom) range and rival the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R in the Indian market.
The motorcycle comes equipped with sporty ergonomics and a full-fairing design. The feature list includes twin-pod LED headlight at the front, a digital instrument cluster, split-style seats, and a compact exhaust cannister. Internationally, the RS660 is available in three colours – Lava Red, Black Apex, and Acid Gold.
Mechanical specifications include a 659cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that makes 100bhp of power at 10,500rpm and 67Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 189kg. The electronic rider aids include five ride modes (Commute, Dynamic, Individual, Challenge, and Time Attack), traction control system, wheelie control, and a cruise control system.
