- Aprilia Tuono 660 now available in Malaysia
- Priced at an equivalent of Rs 13.83 lakh
- Is likely to be launched in India this year
Aprilia has introduced the Tuono 660 in Malaysia with a price tag of RM 77,900 which converts to Rs 13.83 lakh. On the other hand, the fully-faired RS660 was launched in the South East Asian country earlier this year.
The Tuono 660 is available in three colour schemes- Concept Black, Acid Gold, and Iridium Grey. However, Aprilia is only offering the Tuono 660 in black in Malaysia as of now. Nevertheless, the rest of the motorcycle remains the same. It sports a half-fairing with a full-LED headlamp setup similar to the RS660. The Tuono 660, being a streetfighter, comes with a raised, single-piece handlebar that offers an upright position.
Powering the Aprilia Tuono 660 is a 660cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor with a 270-degree firing order to replicate the iconic RSV4’s sound. This motor is slightly revised compare to the one on the R660 and gets a shorter final drive producing 95bhp of power as compared to the RS 660’s 100bhp unit. As for electronic rider aids, Aprilia has fitted the Tuono 660 with ride-by-wire, wheelie control, traction control, cornering ABS, cruise control, engine brake control, and five ride modes. It is also fitted with a colour TFT instrument cluster.
As for its India launch, Aprilia has already listed the Tuono 660 as well as the RS660 on its Indian website and we can expect it to arrive in the country sometime later this year. It will compete against the Triumph Trident 660 and the Honda CB650R here.
