Benelli revealed the 302S at the EICMA recently. The bike is likely to be a replacement for the TNT 300 which is currently available in India.
The bike’s design is similar to the TNT 300. However, the 302S looks more modern. It features a LED headlamp unit and LED DRLs on the tank extensions. While the front turn indicators are conventionally mounted LED units, the rear indicators are integrated into the LED tail lamp. It also sports a fully-digital instrument console.
The Benelli 302S uses a steel trestle frame which houses a 300cc parallel-twin engine that produces 37.5bhp at 11,000rpm and 25.6Nm of torque at 9,750rpm. This unit is mated to a six-speed gearbox and final chain drive. Stopping power comes from twin 260 mm petal discs up front and a single 240mm petal disc at the rear. The bike gets dual-channel ABS as standard.
It gets 41mm inverted forks for the front and a preload adjustable monoshock for the rear. The 302S gets a beefy 160mm rear tyre and a 120mm front tyre that are wrapped on 17-inch alloys. With a large 16-litre fuel tank capacity, the bike tips the scale at 203kg.
We can expect the manufacturer to bring the 302S to India by early next year. When launched it would compete against the Kawasaki Z250 and KTM 390 Duke.
