- Priced at PHP 1,99,000 (Rs 3.06 lakh)
- Packs Leoncino 500-inspired design
- India launch likely this year
Benelli has introduced the Leoncino 250 in the Philippines. The quarter-litre motorcycle has been launched in the country at PHP 1,99,000 (Rs 3.06 lakh). The motorcycle draws styling cues from the Leoncino 500. Thus, the quarter-litre model packs features such as full-LED lighting, digital instrument cluster, and a rear tyre hugger mounted numberplate. The motorcycle, similar to its higher displacement sibling, uses the Lion of Pesaro motif on the front fender.
The Leoncino 250 is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, DOHC engine. Linked to a six-speed transmission, the motor is tuned to produce 26.8bhp at 10,500rpm and 21Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm.
The hardware on the motorcycle includes a 280mm petal-type disc with a four-piston hydraulic calliper at the front and a 240mm petal-type rotor with a single-piston calliper for the back to perform the anchoring tasks. The suspension setup includes 41mm inverted front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The Leoncino 250 rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends.
Benelli India has confirmed that the Leoncino 250 will be launched on our shores, although the timeline is still not available. The Benelli Leoncino 250 will rival the Bajaj Dominar 250, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, and the likes in the Indian market.
