BMW Motorrad is going full-force with its heritage-classic R18 brand, recently unveiling the Bagger and Transcontinental version of the R18 that is available in India. While we have done an image gallery of the R18 Transcontinental previously, here we bring you all the details of the R18 B through this image gallery.
The BMW R18 B is based on the ‘standard’ R18. However, since the ‘B’ stands for Bagger, it gets revised bodywork and a few other changes to set it apart. To begin with, it gets a large batwing fairing that encloses the redesigned LED headlamp.
At the rear, there are the factory-installed panniers that fit perfectly over the exhaust pipes that have been borrowed from the R18 Classic rather than the bulbous type from the standard model. The R18 B also rides on alloys with tubeless tyres as standard at both ends that replace the spoke wheels on the R18 and R18 Classic.
Inside the cockpit, the BMW R18 B features four round analogue dials that display the usual info and look similar to that on Harley-Davidson’s motorcycles. Nonetheless, underneath this is a large TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity to show navigation, music playback, and the works. The R18 B also comes with two-way speakers from Marshall.
Besides the new equipment and bodywork, what remains constant among all the models of the R18 is the massive 1802cc, boxer-twin engine that produces 89.9bhp and 158Nm.
Now, BMW Motorrad is offering the R18 B in a choice of four colours- First Edition with classic black and pin striping, Black Storm Metallic, Manhattan Metallic Matte and the glitzy Option 719 paint scheme.
While the motorcycle will make its way to international markets soon, we can expect it to be introduced in India by the end of 2021 and sold alongside the R18, R18 Classic as well as R18 Transcontinental.
