Ducati India recently teased the imminent arrival of its middle-weight supersport, the Panigale V2. We expect that it will be the first product to be launched from the Italian bike maker after the ongoing lockdown ends. Ahead of its arrival, we bring you the action-packed image gallery of this stunning successor to the Panigale 959 which is already a part of Ducati’s India portfolio.
We are quite familiar with the design of the Panigale V2 as it is largely borrowed from the larger Panigale V4 but in a more compact format. It gets the same angry-looking front section, angular fairing and a pointed raked tail section.
The full-LED lighting is accompanied by a new 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster. With the optional DMS (Ducati Multimedia System), this console connects with the rider’s smartphone and shows the ongoing music, text messages and call alerts.
The high-tech display can be used to manage a host of electronic rider aids it comes equipped with. The package includes traction control, cornering ABS, engine brake control and wheelie control.
Propelling the Panigale V2 is a Euro5/BS6-compliant 955cc, 90-degree, V-twin engine which is capable of producing 152.8bhp and 104Nm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox assisted by a bi-directional quick shifter.
Depending on the riding condition, all the power available can be utilised in three different formats including Race, Sports and Road which are customizable as per the rider’s preference.
The motorcycle rides on five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped around Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres. Suspension duties are handled by Showa Big Piston Forks and Sachs monoshock, both being fully adjustable.
Completing the premium hardware package are the top-notch brakes which comprise of twin, 320mm discs with M4.32 Brembo monobloc calipers up front and a single 245mm disc with single Brembo caliper at the rear.
Ducati is likely to price the Panigale V2 around the ballpark of Rs 15-15.5 lakh (ex-showroom) which will be a substantial premium over the outgoing Panigale 959.
