Honda has revealed the 2022 iteration of its middleweight adventure tourer motorcycle, the CB500X. The previous version of the motorcycle is already available in the Indian market. While we await the Indian launch announcement of the 2022 Honda CB500X, here we explain all the details about the motorcycle.
The overall silhouette of the 2022 Honda CB500X remains similar to its predecessor. Thus, the latest iteration of the motorcycle continues to feature a single-pod headlight at the front, a tall windscreen, a semi-fairing design, a step-up seat, and a side-slung exhaust.
There are, however, styling revisions in the form of updated colours. The 20220 CB500X is available in three colours – Pearl Organic Green, Grand Prix Red, and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic.
There are a few changes to the hardware as well. The MY22 CB500X gets lighter wheels that help it shed some weight. The cast aluminium wheels are claimed to be more tensile. The 2022 model also gets a new radiator design that is claimed to be lighter than the old model.
The suspension setup, too, has received a revision. The shock absorption tasks at the front are now handled by Showa SF-BPF inverted forks instead of conventional units on the old motorcycle. The rear, on the other hand, continues to use a preload-adjustable mono-shock.
The MY22 CB500X also gets a revised braking setup. The anchoring tasks at the front are now handled by twin 296mm rotors instead of a single 310mm disc on the old model. The rear braking setup includes a single 240mm disc.
The mechanical specifications on the 2022 model remain similar to the outgoing version. Thus, the 471cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled model continues to deliver 47bhp of maximum power at 8,500rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The six-speed gearbox benefits from an assist and slipper clutch mechanism.
