India-bound Indian FTR 1200 Rally launched in the USA

Indian Motorcycle has launched the FTR 1200 Rally in the USA. The motorcycle is priced at USD 13,499 (Rs 10.20 lakh). 

The FTR 1200 Rally is based on the standard FTR 1200 that is available in India. However, as its name suggests, the Rally is a more off-road focused variant. It offers an even more upright riding posture thanks to the ProTaper 50mm taller handlebars. Adding to its off-road abilities, the FTR 1200 Rally features spoke wheels that are wrapped in Scorpion Rally STR knobby tyres.

The motorcycle also gets slight cosmetic changes in the form of a new Titanium Smoke paint job and a large Indian head decal on the side of the fuel tank. Moreover, it also gets a small fly screen and a tan brown seat that adds a retro touch.Apart from this, the Indian FTR 1200 Rally remains the same. The bike uses inverted forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear while braking is taken care of by 320mm discs for the front and a 265mm rear disc. It also continues to be powered by a 1205cc, liquid-cooled V-twin that produces 125bhp and 117.9Nm.

Interestingly, the motorcycle has already been listed on the manufacturer’s Indian website alongside the FTR 1200 Carbon and is expected to be launched in the country sometime soon.
