- Suzuki GSX-8S launched in France
- Powered by 776cc parallel-twin engine
- Could be launched in India soon
Suzuki made its way into the parallel-twin world with the GSX-8S that was unveiled at the EICMA 2022. While the motorcycle is expected to be launched in India soon, the Japanese brand has revealed the pricing in Europe.
The GSX-8S has been pegged at USD 9300 which is the equivalent of Rs 7.67 lakh. And for that price, you get a 776cc, parallel-twin motor with a 270-degree crank that is capable of generating 81.7bhp and 77.6Nm. This is in the ballpark of its rivals, the Yamaha MT-07 and the Kawasaki Z650. As for tech, the GSX-8S gets the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System that consists of ride-by-wire electronic throttle, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector with three different output modes, three-level traction control system, ABS, and a bidirectional quickshifter as well. It also gets the Suzuki Easy Start and low RPM assist system for smoother city rides. That said, the Suzuki GSX-8S also features full-LED lighting and a five-inch colour TFT LCD.
Now the styling is another talking point about the Suzuki GSX-8S. Sporting a radical looking language, the motorcycle features a stacked LED assembly for the headlamp. It also gets sharp tank shrouds, a muscular fuel tank, an aluminum swingarm with exposed frame and sub-frame for a raw look. Overall, it does draw similarities from its bigger sibling- the GSX-S1000.
As we mentioned, the GSX-8S is expected to debut in the country to take on the Kawasaki Z650. However, the Suzuki could be pricier compared to its rivals with an expected price tag of around Rs 8.5 lakh, ex-showroom.
