- 2021 Triumph Speed Twin introduced in Malaysia
- Is likely to be launched in India soon
- Gets cosmetic updates
Triumph Motorcycles has launched the 2021 Speed Twin in Malaysia and will be reaching dealerships later this month. The motorcycle has been priced at an equivalent of Rs 13.7 lakh in the South East Asian country. Interestingly, the Speed Twin was also recently listed on Triumph’s India website suggesting that the motorcycle could make its way to our country sometime soon.
Now, the 2021 edition which was unveiled a few weeks ago gets a few cosmetic changes that set it apart from the previous model. To begin with, it gets a new anodized headlamp and mudguard mounts as well as new graphics and 12-spoke alloy wheels. Besides these changes, the 2021 Triumph Speed Twin looks the same and is offered in three colours- Red Hopper, Matte Storm Grey and Jet Black.
Powering the Speed Twin is a 1200cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 98.6bhp; slightly higher than the earlier 96bhp output. Meanwhile, the 112Nm of torque is offered sooner at 4250rpm as compared to 4950rpm previously. Its suspension setup has been revised and it now features 43mm Marzocchi upside-down forks with cartridge damping while the rear uses twin shocks with preload-adjustability.
The bike also features updated Brembo M50 calipers at the front. Nonetheless, the electronic aids like three riding modes, a traction control system, and ABS remain the same. Adding value to the package is a full-LED lighting setup, USB charging socket, as well as a twin-pod semi-digital instrument cluster.
