- India launch on 5 July, 2023
- Will be manufactured by Bajaj Auto in Chakan, Maharashtra
- Will rival Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350
Triumph Motorcycles will unveil its budget-friendly motorcycles, the Street 400 and the Street Scrambler 400, in London tomorrow, 27 June, 2023. Moreover, these motorcycles will debut in the Indian market early next month. These products have been co-developed with Bajaj Auto and will be manufactured at the Indian manufacturer’s Chakan plant near Pune, Maharashtra.
The company has released a teaser image of these motorcycles, although it is yet to reveal the final products. Notably, both products were seen via spy photographs and videos in the past. These have revealed important details regarding their styling, features, and hardware. The Street 400 will feature road-focussed hardware, while the Street Scrambler 400 will pack an off-road-based setup. Thus, the latter will receive 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels and a longer rating for suspension travel. The Street 400, on the other hand, will use 17-inch wheels on both ends.
Notably, both products will get a neo-retro design, full-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and a dual-channel ABS. The details about the engine are not available yet. However, they are expected to get a 350-400cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that is likely to make between 35bhp and 40bhp of maximum output.
Local manufacturing will allow Triumph Motorcycles to price these products competitively. The Street 400 will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda CB 350, while the Street Scrambler 400 will compete against the Royal Enfield Scram 411 and Yezdi Scrambler in India.
