- To make global debut tomorrow
- Will rival Ducati Multistrada V4 and BMW R 1250 GS
- Indian launch likely to happen in 2022
Triumph Motorcycles will unveil its flagship adventure tourer, the Tiger 1200 tomorrow. This new model from the British two-wheeler maker will make its way into the Indian market soon after its global unveiling and we expect to see it on our shores in the first half of 2022. Once launched, the new Triumph Tiger 1200 will compete against the Ducati Multistrada V4 and the BMW R 1250 GS.
The British manufacturer has released several images of the Tiger 1200 Prototype ahead of its unveiling. The teaser footage and photographs have revealed several styling elements and the hardware on the motorcycle. The latest iteration of the Tiger 1200 features a lean design, a twin-pod headlight, a semi-fairing, a tall windscreen, split-style saddle, tall-set exhaust, and tubeless-tyre compatible cross-spoke wheels.
The details about the mechanical specifications or the feature list are unavailable yet, although we expect the new Tiger 1200 to be at par with its rivals such as the BMW R 1250 GS and the Ducati Multistrada V4. The official teaser videos have confirmed features such as full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT display on the new Tiger 1200.
The electronic rider aids, similar to its rivals, should include an inertia measurement unit, cornering ABS, and lean-sensitive traction control system. Other features should include heated grips, heated seats, and a cruise control system. We expect the new model to carry a price premium over its predecessor and retail around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) levels.
