Suzuki Motorcycle India has started exporting their most successful motorcycle – the Gixxer to its home market in Japan.
The first consignment of 720 Gixxers have already left for Japan and will reach in the next few days. Suzuki has exported only the fuel-injection and the rear disc brake versions. This bike will be available in single and dual-tone paint schemes.
This is a big step for the Indian arm of Suzuki as Japanese are known to use only high quality products. It will be interesting to see if the Japanese manufacturer has exported the bikes that is sold in India or they have included few superior components for their home market. The Japanese version doesn't get saree guard and front number plate.
“It is a very proud moment for all of us as we send off our Indian flagship motorcycle Gixxer to Japan. We are already exporting Gixxer to other countries like Latin America and some surrounding countries. The export of made in India vehicles to Japan denotes the high quality benchmarks established by SMIPL and its expanding global role,' said Satoshi Uchida, managing director, Suzuki Motorcycle India.
