Indian Motorcycles is looking forward to achieving a triple digit growth for its motorcycle sales this year. Pankaj Dubey, Managing Director, Polaris India Private Limited, revealed this during the launch of the Scout Bobber at the India Bike Week.
Speaking to BikeWale, Mr Dubey said that the leisure biking segment will touch 25 per cent CAGR in the next few years as opposed to 7 to 10 per cent for the mass market segment, and Indian is looking to make the most of it. The brand has been experiencing a phenomenal growth, and is expecting to more than double its sales numbers in this calendar year. The brand takes pride in the ride quality and attention to detail of its motorcycles, which have struck a chord with the audience. Besides, the activities of the Indian Motorcycle Riding Group has garnered a positive response, helping in word-of-mouth publicity.
The Scout has turned out to be the cash cow for the American brand, playing an important role in achieving this growth. The company is looking at further strengthening its market share with the launch of the Scout Bobber. As for the luxury bike segment, its flagship model, the Roadmaster, has turned out to be the bestseller.
To widen its footprint, Polaris will launch two new Indian Motorcycles dealerships by the end of this year, in Kochin and Jaipur. With this, the company will have 10 dealerships across the country.
