- Limited edition bike

- Powered by a 1,811cc V-twin engine
Polaris will be launching the Indian Chieftain Elite on 12 August. With only 350 units produced for sale worldwide, the bagger will be available in very limited numbers in the Indian market.
As the name suggests, the Chieftain Elite is based on the Chieftain premium bagger. It features the same overall profile and body panels as the Chieftain albeit with a unique paint job. The custom silver paint scheme is a tribute to the silver mines in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Every Chieftain Elite is hand painted, which is a 25-hour process, and no two bikes are identical. Besides, it also gets a 19-inch 10-spoke front wheel, 200-Watt audio system, LED headlamp, adjustable windshield, billet aluminium floorboards and leather seats.
Powering the Chieftain Elite is the Thunder Stroke V-twin air-cooled engine which is employed in the rest of Indian’s Cruiser, Bagger and Touring range. Displacing 1811cc, the engine churns out 161Nm of torque, and is mated to a six-speed transmission. The rider aids include ABS and a cruise control system.
The Chieftain Elite, once launched, will be the most expensive bike in Indian’s line-up. We expect it to be priced north of Rs 40 lakhs. The Chieftain Elite will share the market space with the Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special.
