- More off-road capable Indian FTR 1200 Rally revealed
- Gets retro-scrambler styling
- Could be launched in India next year
If you think that the Indian FTR1200is an interesting motorcycle, the manufacturer recently unveiled the FTR 1200 Rally.
The FTR 1200 Rally is a more off-road capable version with a retro twist. It sports a new Titanium Smoke paint with a large Indian head on the fuel tank, a small fly screen and a tan-seat that adds to the retro character. As for its off-road capabilities, the FTR 1200 Rally features a more upright riding position thanks to the revised ergonomics and 50mm taller handlebars sourced from ProTaper.
Furthermore, it also rides on Scorpion Rally STR tyres that are wrapped around spoke wheels instead of the alloys on the standard model. Besides these changes, the FTR 1200 Rally remains the same. It uses a 1205cc, liquid-cooled V-twin that churns out 125bhp and 117.9Nm. Suspension and braking duties are unchanged too. The bike rides on inverted forks and a monoshock at the rear while braking is done by 320mm discs up front and a 265mm disc at the rear.
We can expect Indian Motorcycle to launch the off-road oriented FTR 1200 Rally in India sometime next year. And given the added equipment, it will demand a slight premium over the Race Replica model which costs Rs 18.17 lakhs (ex-showroom).
