The Indian FTR 1200 S recently made its debut in the country carrying a sticker price of Rs 15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). Here is a detailed image gallery of the motorcycle for you to ogle at.
Indian Motorcycle, generally known for its cruisers has styled the FTR 1200 on the lines of its championship-winning FTR 750 flat-tracker motorcycle.
The bike is also available in a Race Replica version which costs Rs 17.99 lakhs. It gets black and red colour combination similar to the competition bike.
The round headlamp sports a full-LED setup. The FTR 1200’s tail lamp and turn indicators also get LED lighting.
The instrumentation on the Indian FTR 1200 S comes in the form of a 4.3-inch touchscreen display which can be connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth. Its electronic package also consists of a lean-sensitive stability control system, traction control, wheelie control and three ride modes; Sport, Standard and Rain along with a Track mode.
The FTR 1200 uses a 1203cc, liquid-cooled V-twin engine that produces 120bhp and 115Nm of torque that is mated to a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.
Interestingly, the 13-litre fuel tank on the Indian FTR 1200 is placed under the seat rather than between the rider’s thighs. This centralizes the mass and lowers the centre of gravity of the bike as well.
The bike rides on a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel shod with dual-sport Dunlop DTR-3 tyres that complete its flat-tracker appeal.
Braking is done by twin 320mm discs for the front and a 265mm single disc at the rear. Meanwhile, suspension duties are handled by Showa 43mm inverted front forks and an offset monoshock at the rear sourced from ZF.
