- Reveal what the production version could look like.
- Expected to be powered by the same 1200cc V-twin as the Scout.
- Likely to be unveiled at the Intermot or EICMA this year.
Patent designs of the upcoming Indian FTR 1200 street bike have been leaked revealing details about the production version.
The bike follows a street tracker body style. It gets an upright yet mildly aggressive riding position, short rear section and slightly upswept if not high, side-mounted twin exhausts. The FTR1200 is likely to ride on a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel. While the front forks are upside down units, the rear uses an offset monoshock. It also appears to get an under seat fuel tank and an LCD instrument cluster.
It uses a steel trellis frame with the engine as a stressed member. The FTR1200 is likely to use a retuned version of the Scout’s 1130cc, V-twin engine that produces 98.7bhp and 97.7Nm of torque. Indian Motorcycles is expected to unveil the FTR1200 at the Intermot or EICMA this year. We can expect the bike to make it to our shores sometime later next year.
