- FTR 1200 Carbon revealed
- Gets plenty of carbon-fibre treatment
- No change in power output
Indian Motorcycles has pulled the wraps off the FTR Carbon – a top of the line variant. This bike costs £14,699 (Rs 13.85 lakh), making it quite expensive than the other two variants.
For the extra money, the American brand is giving our a few exclusive features with this FTR. To start with, there’s plenty of carbon fibre components around the motorcycle. The fuel tank, front mudguard, headlight cowl, pillion seat cover and airbox covers – all gets carbon fibre treatment. The fuel tank also sports a special ‘Indian FTR 1200 Carbon’ branding.
There’s a few mechanical changes too. This new variant is equipped with 2-1-2 Akrapovic exhaust. But there’s no performance upgrade and the engine continues to churn out 125bhp of peak power and 120Nm of peak torque. Interestingly, even with its new carbon fibre additions, the 1200 FTR Carbon is heavier than the 1200 S and the standard variant.
The FTR Carbon is likely to go on sale in UK in the next few weeks. However, there’s less chance of this bike making its way to India due to poor brand recall and the expensive price tag.
