Indian Motorcycles has unveiled a slew of technological and cosmetic updates for its line-up. While these 2017 models will be sold only in the US, Middle East and Africa for now, we can expect them to start arriving in India by the end of this year.
The Indian Scout and the Scout Sixty now benefit from recalibrated rear shocks, a redesigned rear header exhaust pipe to improve the leg clearance, a swingarm bearing cover and increased steering lock to improve the turning radius of the motorcycles. The wiring harness has also been revamped to offer a cleaner and clutter-free look. The Scout is also available in three new paint schemes – ivory cream, brilliant blue over pearl white and Indian Motorcycle red over black.
Also new for the Roadmaster and the Chieftain is a Ride Command infotainment system, which comes with a seven-inch touchscreen display. Integrated into the dashboard of the bike, the infotainment system allows the rider to access the vehicle status, ride data, audio system as well as the navigation system. With a host of customisability options on offer, the touchscreen display can also be used with the gloves on. This infotainment system is offered as a standard fitment. Apart from Ride Command, the Roadmaster and the Chieftain have also been updated with new dual-tone paint schemes.
The changes on the rest of the line-up are just cosmetic. The Chief Classic is now available in a new dual tone scheme – burgundy metallic over thunder black, along with the older pearl white shade. The Chief Vintage gets two new dual tone paint schemes Indian red over ivory cream and springfield blue over ivory cream. The Springfield bagger is also available in two new dual tone colours - steel grey over burgundy metallic and springfield blue metallic over star silver.
