Yamaha India is quite bullish about its growth in India. In fact, if things goes as per Yamaha’s plan, the Indian market could become the company’s largest market in the world by 2020.
Over the last three years, the Japanese manufacturer made its presence felt in a wide range of segment. Starting from scooters and mass market motorcycles to a quarter-litre bikes like the FZ25, Yamaha is slowly churning out products that has been accepted quite well in the country. With bikes like the FZ series, Yamaha has been able to hold a major market share in the premium 150cc segment.
With a good set of mass market products in hand, the company wants to reach one million sales as early as possible. It also wants to export two lakh units to South American and few Asian countries. While Yamaha hasn’t commented on its upcoming new products, there’s a high chance we will see the YZF-R15 V 3.0 during the festive season. This motorcycle won’t bring volumes likes its sub-150cc products, but it does help the company build a strong brand around its racing DNA.
