Indian Motorcycles might officially launch the Roadmaster and the Dark Horse in India on May 7. The iconic American manufacturer has released a teaser image on their Facebook page, hinting that the two motorcycles might be launched here during the inauguration of the company’s new dealership in Bangalore.
The Roadmaster is a faired cruiser which competes with the Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic and the Victory Cross Country Tour. It gets several creature comforts like keyless ignition, ABS, tyre-pressure sensors and LED lights, electrically adjustable visor and adjustable floorboards. It also comes with heated leather seats with 10 individual settings for the rider as well as the pillion.
The Dark Horse on the other hand, is the lightest and the most affordable Chief motorcycle in Indian’s line-up. The Chief Dark Horse is based on the popular Chief platform, though it ditches the acres of chrome in favour of dark undertones thanks to a matt black paint scheme. Both the Roadmaster and the Dark Horse is powered the 111 cubic inch or 1811cc ‘Thunder-Stroke’ V-twin engine which is rated at 139Nm of torque.
Owners can also opt for an optional ‘Big Sucker’ air intake, which improves the bike’s performance and the throttle response. Like for the rest of the range, we can safely expect Indian to offer a host of customising options for both these motorcycles. Stay tuned to BikeWale for all the details.
