Indian Motorcycle marked its entry in our country in January, last year, by launching the Chief Classic, Chief Vintage and the Chieftain. While the iconic American manufacturer currently has just a single dealership in India, a report suggests that the company is going to open its second showroom in Bangalore, next month.
The new dealership is expected to be opened by the second week of February and will integrate a service facility as well. Indian Motorcycle imports its products through the completely built unit (CBU) route and hence, they attract the government’s heavy taxation. With prices starting from Rs 26.5 lakh, the Indian is a very premium brand, accessible only to the uber rich people.
In August 2014 however, the company announced its intentions of bringing the Scout to Indian market. With a price tag of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the Scout will be the most affordable motorcycle in the Indian’s line-up and will help the company expand its reach to a larger customer base.
