- Indian Scout line-up to get new model soon
- To be called Scout Rogue
- Is ikely to come with a 1179cc, V-twin
Indian Motorcycle has filed a trademark for the name Scout Rogue suggesting that the current five- variant Scout family could see the inclusion of a new model soon.
Now, Indian’s parent company, Polaris filed for the Rogue name in 2013. But then, it was to be used as a successor to the Victory Motorcycles Octane cruiser. However, that was left unfinished as Polaris shut down the Victory Motorcycles brand to focus on Indian. So, the upcoming Scout Rogue is speculated to be based on the Octane that featured a 1179cc, 104bhp, and 103Nm-producing V-twin motor.
Moreover, the Victory Octane also sported a more modern take to its styling with blacked-out bodywork, a headlamp cowl, and angular body panels. Currently, the India Scout line-up has the standard model, Scout Sixty, and a few bobber variants. If Indian Motorcycles decides to go with a styling similar to the Victory Octane for the Scout Rogue, it would be an interesting proposition. This would put it in direct contention with the Harley-Davidson Custom 1250 and the Honda Rebel 1100.
We expect the Indian Scout Rogue to debut sometime later this year internationally and make its way to India likely by 2022.
