- Entire Scout line-up recalled in the USA
- Affects 2,000 models manufactured between 2017 and 2019
- No recall announced in India yet
Indian Motorcycles has issued a recall for its entire Scout range in the USA manufactured between 2017 and 2019.
The Scout line-up includes the standard Scout, Scout Sixty and Scout Bobber all of which are also available in India. The recall which affects 2,072 units of the motorcycles, addresses a faulty ABS unit which might not have been filled with fluids to the appropriate level. This could lead to air filling up in the braking system and therefore reducing brake performance eventually. To rectify the problem, Indian Motorcycles will bleed the brakes of the affected bikes and refill it with the level of fluids required.
The issue can be felt with the brake lever or pedal getting spongy and soft. The recall has already begun in USA, there is no word about the motorcycles being affected in India yet. However, we would recommend checking your Indian Scout at the nearest dealership to check for the issues and rectify it.
