It is been 15 months since Indian Motorcycles officially started doing business in India. And looks like, their business is flourishing in the country.
As per a report, the American manufacturer has sold over 200 units in India. The sales figures look a bit disappointing but considering the fact that their most affordable bike costs little above Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), it is a good number. Currently, the Polaris-owned company sells six motorcycles through the completely-built-up (CBU) route.
The company claims that it has acquired over 60 per cent market share in the Rs 20 lakh and above motorcycle segment. In order to strengthen its footprint in India, it recently opened a showroom in Bangalore, where it also launched the Roadmaster and the Dark Horse. The company plans to expand four new dealerships in Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.
