Indian has filed a recall for the 2015 Scout cruiser motorcycle. The campaign has been initiated to fix a defect in the rear brakes, which might have affected around 806 units of the Indian Scout that have been recalled.
According to Indian, ‘the piston retaining ring located in the rear master cylinder may not fully seat into the machined groove in the master cylinder bore’, which can lead to a partial or total loss in the stopping force in the rear brake assembly. The statement released by Indian further states that the issue could have been caused by a defect in the manufacturing process of the master cylinder, at the component manufacturer’s end.
Indian says that the issue has only affected two to four per cent of the 806 motorcycles recalled. In the affected vehicles, the defective component will be replaced by the company free of charge.
