Polaris has launched the Roadmaster Elite in India at Rs 48 lakhs (ex-showroom). A CBU imported from the US, the Roadmaster Elite is the most premium Indian motorcycle sold in the country.
To set it apart in a crowd, the Roadmaster Elite features a unique paint job. The cobalt blue and black paint scheme takes 30 hours to hand paint. The fuel tank also features a 23K gold leaf badge. Additionally, the fairing prominently features the Pathfinder LED headlamp unit with chrome embellishing on top and flanked by the turn indicators.
While the Roadmaster in itself is a feature-loaded bike, the Roadmaster Elite benefits from a few additional creature comforts from the accessories catalogue. The instrument console gets a seven-inch touchscreen display, which apart from the usual functions, shows ambient air temperature, heading, audio information display, vehicle diagnostics, trip computer and altitude. It can also pair up with your phone and display call information and navigation. Stowed inside the fairing are the speakers of a 300W audio system. The hardcase panniers can hold 137 litres of luggage. The floorboards are adjustable according to the rider’s and pillion’s preferences.
Propelling the 418-kilogram Roadmaster Elite is an 1811cc ‘Thunder Stroke 111’ V-twin engine. Mated to a six-speed transmission, the engine develops 161Nm of torque. The rider aids include ABS and cruise control. It rides on 16-inch alloy wheels with 46mm telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Brake setup consists of twin 300mm discs at the front and a single 300mm disc at the rear.
Globally, the Roadmaster Elite is produced in a limited run of just 300 units, and only a handful of these would be sold in India. It competes against the Harley-Davidson CVO Limited.
