The Indian Scout Bobber is going to be priced at Rs 13.95 lakhs (ex-showroom). Dealerships have started accepting bookings for the motorcycle for a token amount of Rs 50,000, and deliveries are expected to commence in the next month.
Based on the same platform as the Scout cruiser, the Scout Bobber gets the stripped down look of a custom motorcycle. The wheels, frame, exhaust and the engine feature a matte black coat, while the engine gets chrome outline. The riding position has changed thanks to the revised handlebar and foot pegs. The fuel tank features a new Indian insignia.
Powering the Scout Bobber is a 1133cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine, which delivers 100bhp and 97Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission. Up front, the Scout Bobber features cartridge-type telescopic forks, while the rear suspension has been lowered. The net result is a one inch lower ground clearance.
A slew of option extras are available, like pillion back rest, slip-on exhaust, saddlebags, spoke wheels, engine guards, bar-end mirrors and ape-style handlebars. Like the rest of the Indian range, the Scout Bobber will be imported as a completely built unit. It will compete against the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber and the Harley-Davidson Fat Bob.
