Indian Motorcycles launched the Scout Bobber in India at a price of Rs 12.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). At a similar price you could also consider eight other bikes that the Indian market offers. Here is the list-
From the stables of Indian Motorcycles itself comes the Scout Sixty. Just like the Scout Bobber, the Scout Sixty is based on the Scout and sports a similar design. However, the bike uses a 999cc V-twin petrol engine that produces 78bhp of power and 88Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed gearbox and final belt drive. The bike is priced at Rs 12.11 lakhs. Harley-Davidson also offers a cruiser in the form of the Street Bob. The bike is a low-slung cruiser with ape-handlebars as standard. It uses a 1745cc V-twin engine with maximum torque of 144Nm. The Harley-Davidson Street Bob is priced at Rs 11.99 lakhs.
If you would want to opt for sport-touring bikes, the Indian market has three bikes to offer. There is the GSX-S1000F, the faired version of the GSX-S1000 streetfighter. The bike is powered by a 999cc in-line four cylinder engine that puts out 144bhp and 105Nm of torque. It is priced at Rs 12.88 lakhs. Ducati offers the SuperSport, which, unlike its name isn't a track-focused bike. It can be used for commuting, thanks to its upright riding position and also feels at home in the canyons. That is what our expert says. The SuperSport uses a 937cc L-twin engine that churns out 110bhp and 97Nm and is priced at Rs 12.08 lakhs. The Italian manufacturer also has the Hyperstrada 939, a hybrid between the Multistrada and the Hypermotard. The bike is powered by the same 937cc L-twin engine as the SuperSport. It produces 113bhp and 97Nm of torque. The bike is priced at Rs 12.19 lakhs.
Similar to the sport-touring segment is the adventure-touring segment with bikes featuring long suspension travel and off-road capabilities. This list features two such bikes. One is the Kawasaki Versys 1000 which uses a 1043cc in-line four cylinder engine that produces 118bhp and 101Nm of torque. It retails at Rs 12.91 lakhs. The other is the Triumph Tiger 800 XRx. The bike is a more-road going version of the off-road focused XC models and sports road-tyres and alloy wheels. It uses a 800cc three-cylinder engine that produces 94bhp and 79Nm. The Tiger 800 XRx is priced at Rs 12.13 lakhs.
If the raw-looking streetfighters appeal to you, then you could opt for the Aprilia Shiver 900. It sports a more rounded bodywork and the underseat exhausts give the Italian a distinctive look. It is powered by a 896cc V-twin engine that delivers 92bhp and 90Nm of torque. The Shiver would cost you Rs 13.70 lakhs.
