- Indian Chief, Scout recalled
- Issue with fuel pump
Indian Motorcycles has recalled two of its motorcycle ranges – the Scout and the Chief. This recall has been done over fuel pump failure.
According to the company, the impeller thickness on the pump may have been out of specification, which could cause the pump to fail during normal operation. If the pump fails when the bike is in motion, it may result in a possible crash.
The brand will contact the affected customers and ask them to bring the bikes to the nearest dealerships where the part will be replaced with the right one free of charge. As of now, a total of 7811 bikes have been affected by this issue and the brand has temporarily halted new bike dispatches from the factory.
These bikes are made in the US and that means some of the motorcycles in India could also be part of this recall. However, we have not heard anything official from the brand yet.
