- 500kms in a single charge, can do 251kmph
- Will use a liquid-Cooled 18.4 KWh battery pack
- Crowdfunding will begin on 1st July
Mankame, a Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up is claiming to develop an electric bike that will have a top speed of 251kmph and a riding range of upto 500kms in a single charge.
The company will start a crowdfunding program on 1st July to fund the EP-1 bike. Such astonishing figure is possible due to its high density battery pack and compatible motor-controller combination. As per their website, the EP-1 once ready will be equivalent to the 600-650cc motorbikes with internal combustion engines in terms of performance.
Mankame says that they will use a liquid-Cooled 18.4 KWh battery pack which will be made of high density Samsung cells with dedicated Matrix BMS system. This superior system will monitor and control individual cells to provide safety and efficiency. The 40 kW high performance PMSM Motor with 180 Nm of torque at the shaft will send the power to the rear wheel via aramid kevlar reinforced belt drive system.
The braking duties on the bike will be taken care of by dual 320mm front discs and a 240 mm rear disc with Brembo calipers. This system will be integrated with a dual-channel intelligent ABS and traction control system with machine learning that will be developed in-house.
There’s no timeline for this project as of now, but we’re expecting its completion will depend on the funding it gets through indiegogo platform.
