- Only one motorcycle allotted to India for 2019
- Currently the fastest production bike in the world
- Carries a sticker price of Rs 72 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune)
Holding the merit of being the fastest production motorcycle in the world, Kawasaki India delivered a single unit of the Ninja H2R in India yesterday. And we say single unit because; the company runs a limited production for the motorcycle for each year, out of which only one was allotted to India for 2019.
Fetching a sticker price of Rs 72 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune), the Ninja H2R is the company’s flagship motorcycle in its Ninja series. For that price what you get is a motorcycle that capable of doing 0-100kmph in approximately 3.1 seconds and a blistering top speed that is limited at 400kmph. This feat is achieved by a 998cc, inline four-cylinder motor that is supercharged to deliver an output of 317bhp and 165Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed dog-ring type gearbox that is used in MotoGP bikes. To keep all that power in control, the motorcycle features an exhaustive list of electronic aids that include launch control, engine brake control, cornering management, a two-way quick-shifter, traction control and an electronic steering damper.
Since the H2R is a track-only motorcycle, it features winglets instead of mirrors to generate more downforce - an added advantage besides its aerodynamically-designed body. Like the mirrors, the H2R doesn’t get a headlamp and indicators either. It features a dual ram air-intake system that supplies air from the front of the motorcycle directly to the supercharger, whereas, the exhaust system is an all-titanium unit with a straight-pipe megaphone design for maximum performance.
