The main focus for the Ducati at the ongoing 2016 Intermot show was its new range of motorcycles under the brand – Supersport. But the Italian manufacturer made sure to display a couple of bikes which has been upgraded for 2017.
Ducati’s flagship bike – the 1299 Panigale and the 1299 Panigale S gets the company’s next generation EVO electronics. Till now, only the Panigale Anniversario S was lucky enough to get this piece of equipment. So now the more affordable Panigale range gets the latest EVO version of Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC).It gets a superior algorithm that makes the intervention faster and more precise.
The Monster 821 is now Euro 4 compliant. It is also now sold in a new paint scheme – dust grey with red wheels and frame, which looks really good. Ducati will continue to sell the traditional red paint scheme for 2017.
Ducati didn’t forget its adventure touring range. Other than the addition of a new colour volcano grey, the 2017 Multistrada also gets a few mechanical upgrades. This Italian gets a new air intake and the engine has been re-worked to optimise the mid-range power delivery. The Diavel was the one to get the least changes as we believe there’s a facelift in the making and might be out next year. But it is now Euro 4 compliant. We were hoping to see a new paint scheme on this naked power cruiser.
The Indian market will surely get all these updated bikes next year. We’re quite excited to see the Ducati Supersport in India as this bike has been designed to be more comfortable. Lower seat height, not very aggressive riding position and lots of electronics – somethings which makes a lot of sense for the Indian market.
Stay tuned!
