- better tuning for the engine
- new 6.5 inch TFT display
- new windshield
KTM has announced the 2019 version of the 1290 Super Duke GT at Intermot. It gets some new mechanical upgrades as well as some cosmetic ones.
The updates are as follows: the 1301cc V-twin engine now runs titanium inlet valves and generates 175bhp and 141Nm. There is also a two-way quickshifter to help things along. There is also IMU-controlled traction control, braking and rider modes. A new 6.5-inch TFT display is clearer in bright sunlight. A new LED headlamp offers better illumination, and cornering lamps allow you to see through bends while leaned over as well. Semi-active suspension from WP is also the latest now, which allows the rider to change preload at the touch of a button, as well as choose the kind of damping he prefers.
The new windshield has multiple height positions and is easier to change those positions with one hand. There are also storage spaces on either side of the tank, with a USB charging port in one of those spaces. Heated handlebar grips are standard. The 2019 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT is expected to be priced similarly to the outgoing model, but there is very little chance of it going on sale in India anytime soon.
