- Gets a 10bhp increase in power.
- New Brembo brake setup, two riding modes.
- To arrive in India early next year.
Triumph has unveiled the 2019 Street Twin at the Intermot in Cologne, Germany.
The bike continues with its modern-classic design language. However, the seat, instrument cluster, wheels and side panels are redesigned. It also gets brushed aluminium headlamp brackets and a new matte black colour.
Nevertheless, the biggest change on the 2019 Street Twin is the retuned engine. The 900cc, parallel-twin motor now churns out 64bhp; a 10bhp increase over the earlier model while the torque figure remains at 80Nm. Triumph has managed to shave some weight off this motor with a magnesium cam cover and lighter crank and balance shafts.
The braking duties have been upgraded with new Brembo 4-piston calipers for the front. It also gets new 41mm cartridge forks that provide 120mm of suspension travel. Triumph has equipped the bike with ABS and two riding modes; Road and Rain with an optional tyre pressure monitoring system.
Triumph is offering the 2019 Street Twin in two kits; Urban Ride and Café Custom. While the Urban Ride kit gets a brown seat, black engine sump guard, cropped rear fender and a soft case pannier, the Café Custom kit offers Vance and Hines exhausts, cropped rear fender and Fox rear suspension.
We can expect Triumph to launch the 2019 Street Twin in India by June next year. It will compete against the Ducati Scrambler Icon that has also been updated for 2019.
