IOMTT: Hutchinson wins Superstock TT

Ian Hutchinson has racked up one more victory at the 2017 Isle of Man TT, this time in the supersport class on his Tyco BMW. Along the way he logged the fastest lap of the 2017 TT so far with an average speed of nearly 212kph. Peter Hickman on the Smiths BMW came home second, 22.4 seconds behind, and the final podium position was taken by Dan Kneen on his Penz13.com BMW, 21 seconds behind Hickman.

Michael Dunlop finished way back in sixth place on his MD Racing Suzuki. Hutchinson didn't give anyone a hope, even though his Tyco BMW wasn't handling the way he wanted it to. Hickman began eating into his lead, but when Hutchinson got aware of the charge behind him, he put in the fastest lap of the year to open up the lead again. 

The speeds at the 2017 version of the event have been a lot lower, thanks to the weather being uncooperative, and the competitors getting very little practice ahead of the races.
