After a disappointing end to the Superbike TT, Michael Dunlop got his own back with a dominating win in the Superstock (600cc) race at the Isle of Man TT. The difference between him and second-placed James Hillier was 13 seconds, while Ian Hutchinson, winner of the Superbike race, finished in fifth.
The Superstock race was pushed to the afternoon, after overnight rain left the track wet. There were a couple of damp patches on the track but the race started at 1pm local time. James Hillier on the JG Speedfit Kawasaki took the lead in the beginning, but Michael Dunlop and Hillier swapped the lead through the course of the first lap. Come the second lap, Dunlop began extending his lead, but a great pit stop saw Hillier back in contention. Dunlop took it all in stride and by the end of lap three had a six second lead. William Dunlop was third for the first two laps of the race on his IC Racing Yamaha, but Peter Hickman on the Trooper Beer Triumph made a late charge to bag the final podium spot. William Dunlop was comfortably clear of fifth-placed Ian Hutchinson, who didn't find himself anywhere near the leaders during the entire race.
