A Japanese magazine has published an image which they claim to be that of the 2018 Suzuki Hayabusa. While we can’t confirm the authenticity of this image, the front fascia does look like an upgrade from the current Hayabusa.
The interesting bit here is, even though the Hayabusa hasn’t changed much as compared to its rivals, it still manages to outperform all the other litre-class super sports in India in terms of sales. Which is why we are quite excited about the possibility of an upgrade to an already superbly performing bike.
Besides, we Indians do have a thing for the Suzuki Hayabusa ever since we got a glimpse into its sheer raw power in the movie Dhoom. The sight of those villains escaping the cops on their shiny Hayabusas was admittedly the most adrenaline pumping scene in a Bollywood movie.Getting back to the specs of the updated bike though, the front has lost its bulkiness and has become more angular and sharper. The headlamp assembly is completely different and now houses a pair of LED strips. The rear-view mirrors gets a sleek design which goes with the overall look. The exhaust is all new and marginal smaller in size.
There are no details on the mechanical aspects of the upcoming Hayabusa. The interesting bit here is, Suzuki has patented a new turbocharged hybrid technology that has been developed for a litre-class bike. This technology will increase the power of the bike without compromising on the fuel economy. Suzuki went silent soon after unveiling their new GSX Concept at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Kawasaki, Yamaha and Honda have all been able to up the ante with their latest litre-class bikes. Suzuki has been the slowest to react to the market change, but we hope they come back with a bang.
