- Developed ‘Collision Aversion Technology’
- Uses two wide-angle cameras
An Israeli-based start-up called Ride Vision has developed a collision warning system for motorcycles. The company is calling this technology ‘Collision Aversion Technology’ and uses two wide-angle cameras.
These cameras provide 360-degree vision around the bike and using this visual data, the system warns about a collision through warning lights that has been integrated into the rear-view mirrors. Recently, KTM and Ducati announced to use Radar based system to predict about the oncoming crash. But Ride Vision says that the usage of cameras will bring down the cost of the system drastically. This system won’t apply the brakes for the rider. It will rather just let the rider know about the impending crash.
The company plans to start selling this system in the next few months. However, expect it to come with a heavy price tag making it feasible to riders who own big bikes.
