Trust the Italians or in this case, Italjet to come up with designs that are stunning and unique. The Italjet Dragster 700 has just broken cover and it pushes the design envelope with regards to scooters to another dimension. Here’s a look at it in images.
The Italjet Dragster 700’s design is striking but even that word seems like an understatement. The front end, for instance, belongs to a superbike with its sharp lines and inset LED lights. It looks close to the design of the Ducati Panigale V4. The side fairing is minimal and we love the way the trellis frame is left exposed. The rest of the body panels are attached to the subframe very neatly and the under-tail exhaust adds to the visual mass of the Dragster 700.
The scooter is powered by a 700cc parallel-twin engine that makes nearly 70bhp and 70.95Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission. The scooter comes with an Akrapovic exhaust and that should make the scooter sound loud and bassy.
The frame is suspended by a Marzocchi USD fork and an Ohlins rear shock. The scooter rides on 15-inch wheels with a 120-section tyre at the front and a 160-section tyre at the rear. Braking duties are taken care of by a pair of 270mm discs at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear.
Italjet will make only 700 units of the Dragster 700 and it will be sold in International markets only. It costs GBP 10,900 or Rs 11.78 lakh.
