The final round of the FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship has drawn to an end at the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai. TVS Racing’s Jagan Kumar bagged his sixth Indian Motorcycle Racing Championship title, by winning the flagship Super Sport (upto 165cc) class, ahead of Honda Racing’s Rajiv Sethu.
Heavy showers on Sunday saw the final race being conducted over the shorter Club circuit, with the number of laps increased to compensate for the shorter length of the track. The weekend began with Jagan just a point ahead of Rajiv. The gap widened with Jagan winning the race and Rajiv finishing 2nd. In race 2 however, Rajiv crashed out in the first lap itself, handing the championship to Jagan. Race 2 was won by Rajiv’s team-mate Mathana Kumar, while Jagan’s team-mate, Harry Sylvester finished third.
The Pro-Stock (upto 165cc) race 2 was won by Anish D Shetty. The Girls Stock (upto 165cc) was won by Aishwarya Pissay. The weekend saw TVS and Yamaha conduct One-Make Championship races. The Yamaha R15 race was won by Nithish Kumar M, while KB Rajkamal scored the top spot in the TVS race.
