- Jawa 300 spied undisguised
- Carries design of Jawa 350 T 360
- Global unveil on 15th November
A few days ago, we saw a Jawa prototype that was snapped while it was being tested. But now, the production version of one of the Jawa bikes has been captured 10 days before its official unveil.
From the image, it’s clear that Classic Legends didn’t want to play with the design language and the overall shape of the motorcycle. The spied bike gets is design inspiration from the Jawa 350 T 360 model that went on sale in 1964. This bike carried a 344cc 18bhp engine that is mated to a four-speed gearbox.
But the one that will be sold in India does carry some modern bits. The paint finish looks much nicer along with the chrome. It gets the traditional headlamps and turn indicators. The spied bike even carries the same colour as the older Jawas.
This Jawa will be powered by a 293cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 27bhp and 28Nm of torque. It will be mated to a six-speed gearbox and final chain drive. While the unit seems to be based on the Mojo’s 295cc motor, the manufacturer says that the engine has been built from scratch and promises a generous mid-range and flat torque curve with an exhaust note reminiscent of the early 2-stroke Jawas.
Classic Legends is likely to unveil two more bikes along with this Jawa on 15th November. These bikes will be manufactured at Mahindra’s Pithampur plant and will retail between Rs 1.5 lakhs and Rs 2.2 lakhs.
