Jawa Motorcycles updated its product line with the recently launched Jawa 350. Yes, it is the successor to the Jawa Classic and comes with notable changes like a larger engine, revised dimensions and more. We recently rode it and here is our take on the Jawa 350.
In typical Jawa fashion, the 350 adorns proper old-school styling and pays homage to the models of yesteryear. However, the brand has worked on adding more visual mass to the 350 and hence the bike now gets larger fenders, a chunkier seat, and wider tyres too.
However, just like the predecessor, the new Jawa 350 too lags in the features department. Apart from an analogue console with a small digital inset, the new Jawa 350 uses halogen illumination, which is about it.
One of the most evident updates that Jawa has made is the addition of a larger engine. As the name suggests, this one gets a 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that makes 22bhp and 28.2Nm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
The new engine has more thump than the earlier one and should make it easy to ride the bike in the city. This is a result of a strong midrange. Further, the refinement levels too are better and the vibrations are almost non-existent till 90kmph.
Another aspect where the Jawa 350 shines is its handling. The wider tyres and longer wheelbase inspire more confidence and aid in stability as well. Even changing directions on the new Jawa 350 while riding on twisties is fun and engaging.
Jawa has also increased the seat height so riders around 5’6 might find it slightly difficult to get on and off the bike. But there are other areas where Jawa could work on and improve the 350 as an overall package.
But should you spend Rs. 2.15 lakh on the new Jawa 350? We have answered that question in our first ride review of the bike.
