Classic Legends recently widened its portfolio with the launch of the new Jawa 42 Bobber offering. As the name suggests, it’s based on the 42 roadster but gets a host of changes that are mainly cosmetic. Now, we think it’s one gorgeous-looking motorcycle with a price tag of Rs 2.07 lakh. But if you think otherwise and intend to consider its similarly-priced alternatives, here’s the list.
Suzuki Gixxer SF 250: Rs 1.92 lakh
Priced substantially lower than the Jawa 42 Bobber is Suzuki’s Gixxer SF 250 which is a versatile motorcycle. While it looks sporty with a fully-faired design, the ergonomics aren’t as aggressive and it can be used for commuting as well as touring. The prime USP of the bike is its smooth 249cc, oil-cooled engine that produces 26.13bhp and 22.2Nm. On the feature front, the bike is pretty modest with an LED headlamp and tail lamp, and an LCD console.
KTM RC 200: Rs 2.15 lakh
If you want something sportier than the Gixxer 250, the KTM RC 200 can satiate your hunger of an entry-level sportbike. The premium hardware package and punchy engine performance make it extremely fun to hone around twisties. The 199.5cc motor of the bike makes 25.4bhp and 19.5Nm. Also, the new-generation model is more practical than its predecessor with comfier ergos and more tractable engine tuning.
Suzuki V-Strom SX 250: Rs 2.12 lakh
If you’re more of a touring kind, the Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 is quite a likeable mile muncher. While the engine is the same as the Gixxer SF 250 with similar tuning and gear ratios, the seating comfort it offers is commendable. You also get more touring-centric components like a windscreen, knuckle guards, a larger 19-inch alloy wheel, and a luggage rack at the rear.
Royal Enfield Scram 411: Rs 2.03-2.08 lakh
Based on the Royal Enfield Himalayanadventure tourer, the Scram 411 is a neo-retro scrambler offering. It is more agile and city-friendly with a smaller 19-inch front spoke wheel, as opposed to the Himalayan’s 21-inch unit, and some other changes. And accompanying the quirky design of the Scram is a vast colour palette of multiple fancy shades. It runs on a 411cc mill that is good for 24.3bhp and 32Nm and is known for its strong low-end torque.
