The new Jawa 42 FJ has been launched in India and is available in five new colours. These new colours are central to the appearance of the motorcycle and are called- Aurora Green Matte, Mystique Copper, Cosmo Blue Matte, Deep Black/Matte Black Clad and Deep Black/Matte Red Clad.
Jawa has given the 42 FJ a rather neat-looking appearance with these colours. An interesting design element is the brushed aluminium cladding on the fuel tank. In the top two colours, however, the cladding is painted either in Matte Black or Matte Red.
The Jawa 42 FJ sits at the top of the ‘42’ lineup. The bike is powered by a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 28.7bhp and 29.62Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and has a slip-and-assist clutch.
Under the bodywork, there is a steel cradle frame that is suspended by a 41mm telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers with five-step preload adjustment. The bike rides on an 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel. The bike can be had with wire-spoke rims or alloy wheels. Braking duties are taken care of by a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear.
The price of the Jawa 42 FJ begins at Rs 1.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 2.20 lakh, ex-showroom.
