Classic Legends recently debuted the new Jawa 42 FJ as its latest offering. The brand launched the bike in India just a few days after the BSA Gold Star 650 and it is the second offering based on Jawa’s revised 350 platform. Here are five things you should know about it.
Design
The new Jawa 42 FJ also gets an old-school retro design like its sibling. But this model comes with a brushed aluminum finish in all five paint schemes – Deep Black Matte Red, Deep Black Matte Black, Cosmo Blue Matte, Mystique Copper, and Aurora Green Matte. Jawa is also offering more customisable options with the 42 FJ.
Features
Along with LED illumination, the Jawa 42 FJ also gets a fully digital instrument console. It houses all the necessary readouts including the speedometer, odometer, tripmeter, gear position indicator, and more. The safety net on the 42 FJ comprises single and dual-channel ABS, as per the variant.
Engine
The latest Jawa bike has a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It belts out 28.7bhp and 29.62Nm and gets a six-speed gearbox. Jawa used the same motor for the 350 launched earlier this year.
Hardware
The Jawa 42 FJ rides on telescopic front forks and dual rear springs. Its braking hardware includes a front and rear disc with single-channel or dual-channel ABS. The base model uses spoke wheels with tubed tyres whereas the top-spec trim gets alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.
Price
The Jawa 42 FJ's asking price for the spoke wheel variant is Rs. 1,99,142, and the top-spec model costs Rs. 2,20,142 (both ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Hunter 350, and Honda CB350RS.
