The new Jawa 42 FJ went on sale in India at a starting price of Rs 1.99 lakh. The new roadster features fresh styling, new colours and a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It makes 28.7bhp and 29.62Nm. The bike also packs a decent amount of features. While the pricing of the bike is good, the competition resides nearby. Here are the other options.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 Rs 1.99 lakh
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is the favourite in the segment and that’s for multiple reasons. The timeless design, the sweet, 349cc, J-series engine and the compliant ride make for a motorcycle that’s easy to like. The Classic 350 also packs a lot of character that a lot of other motorcycles these days tend to lack. Royal Enfield recently updated the bike with new colours, gear position indicator and adjustable clutch and brake levers.
Honda CB350RS Rs 2.14 lakh
The Honda CB350RS is the sportier-looking verison of the H’ness CB350. It gets bold colours, blacked out engine and exhaust and chunky tyres. The bike is powered by a 348cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 20.78bhp and 30Nm. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox.
While the CB350RS is a mechanically sound motorcycle with a refined engine and good ride, the bike hasn’t made the kind of impact like Honda would’ve hoped. Also, since the bike is only available through Honda Big Wing dealerships, its reach is limited compared to its arch rival, the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
Bajaj Dominar 250 Rs 1.85 lakh
If you find the styling of the above-mentioned bikes a little too retro for your tastes and want a modern-looking bike, the Bajaj Dominar 250 should fit the bill. It has a 248.8cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 26.63bhp and 23.5Nm. Unlike the Classic 350 or the CB350RS, this engine is quite rev happy. It is also much sportier to ride and agile when it comes to dynamics. In this company, the Dominar 250 will appeal to those who want a quick motorcycle.
