- Spied with alloy wheels instead of wire-spoke wheels
- Gets a new fly-screen and an updated design for the pillion grab rail
- Styling remains unaltered
Classic Legends is testing its motorcycle, the Jawa 42 with an alloy wheel setup. Currently the motorcycle is only available with a wire-spoke setup that uses tube tyres. The alloy wheel variant will bring the convenience of tubeless tyres that are easier to fix in case of a puncture. Apart from the alloy wheel setup, the Jawa 42 test mule also features a blacked out look to the exhaust pipes, front forks, and the rear springs. Moreover, Classic Legends have added a new fly screen at the front and a more stylish pillion grab rail to the retro-style motorcycle.
The updates are limited to the changes listed above. The styling, on the other hand, remains unaltered, and the Jawa 42 continues to feature a retro design. The mechanical specifications, too, are not likely to receive any changes as the company has already updated the motorcycle to comply with the latest emission norms. The BS6-compliant Jawa 42 uses a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 27bhp and 27.05Nm of peak torque. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
The Jawa 42 is currently available in two variants – single-channel ABS and dual-channel ABS. The test mule seen in the spy image is the dual-channel version of the retro-style motorcycle. While the details are scarce, we could see the alloy wheel setup on the Jawa Classic and the Perak as well.
